In general, the parts (cylinder head or engine block) are tested for leaks after completion of the ‘locking part assembly’ process, using a leak test device.
The leak test station is either integrated in the ‘locking part assembly’ machine or is configured as a separate station.
The following areas are tested:
- Coolant chamber
- Pressurized oil chamber
- Non-pressurized oil chamber
Leak test devices are selected for this application based on customer specifications.
