Assembly machines for valve seat rings and valve guides in cylinder heads integrate the following processes:
- supply rings and guides with position, length, and diameter check
- cool rings and guides in nitrogen bath (if required)
- lubricate cylinder head bores
- press rings and guides with electrical or hydraulic press spindles
- observe joint process using integrated force / path monitor
Transfer lines are used whenever high quantities of a low variety of part variants is required.
Modern production systems demand an ever greater flexibility in regard to the part spectrum to be manufactured. At the same time, availability should be increased by the use of redundant production units. In order to fulfill these requirements, AMT has developed a flexible assembly module for valve seat rings and guides. This assembly module consists of:
- a flexible assembly table with 4 NC-axes for part positioning
- a tool magazine for up to 12 different pressing tool types
- between 1 and 6 hydraulic or electrical pressing spindles
- nitrogen bath (if required)
- lubrication device
A robot (gantry or articulated arm) is used to load the assembly module. By connecting several of these assembly modules together, a redundant assembly system with short cycle times can be achieved.
